Simply the best technology available for fishing the largest and most challenging marine predators. Entirely built in Japan, it is designed to offer maximum power and resistance and is designed to guarantee reloability capable of withstanding the greatest stresses and the aggressiveness of the salt. For this reason the new Saltiga G was built with a Monocque Body frame entirely in Aluminium, further optimized to accommodate large gears than in the past. The rotor with the exclusive Air Rotor design is also built completely in aluminium. To protect the internal mechanics from water, salt and dirt, salt and dirt, extensive use has been made of Magsealed technology. Used by NASA in space pipelines, this technology is based on a magnetized oil memnrane and in the Saltiga G it is present both to protect the body and, through two special bearings, at the cintrol wheel. The new Saltiga G presents a significantly improved level of finish both in terms of aesthetics and functionality, thanks to the new painting system which increases resistance to corrosion caused by salt spray and wear.
ATD TOUGH DRAG
Conventional drag mechanusms use the friction force generated between the contact surfaces of a carbon washer and a metal washer. In contrast, DRD generates resistance force through the rotation and friction of the inclined metal roller. As a result, compared to traditional carbon washes, this system allows the line to start flowing more precisely according to the set value, and the drag continues to operate more stably. It responds instantly to sudden powerful runs of large fish and prevents line breakage.
DRD WASHER
Carbon washer are standard in conventional drag mechanisms for large spinning reels. The DRD system use Daiwa’s exclusive metal unit called the DRD washer. Eight metal rollers are installed on each metal plate, positioned at an angle relative to the spool’s rotation direction. This is the most important feature of DRD.
