Saltist X: The Evolution of Long Distance Spinning designed for the Mediterranean.
The new Saltist X rod series is the result of extensive field testing, with the ambitious goal of defining the perfect tool for spinning from the shore. Unlike the standard models destined for the Japanese market, this series was developed specifically to meet the needs of Mediterranean fishermen: we sought and obtained a faster action capable of offering superior responsiveness in handling hardbaits and softbaits, ensuring lightning-fast ferries even at great distances.
The beating heart of these rods is the HVF Nanoplus carbon blank, developed in close collaboration with Toray: the integration of Torayca™’s Nanoplus technology has allowed fiber compression to be pushed to the limit, resulting in an ultra-slim profile shaft.
This technical evolution led to the creation of a blank that is significantly thinner than our usual production standards, providing unprecedented handling. The result is a rod that ranks at the top of the market for lightness, an advantage that becomes extraordinarily noticeable especially in longer lengths.
The use of high-modulus carbon, reinforced by X45 and Braiding X technologies, completes the job by imparting an incredible reserve of power and torsional stability that negates any energy loss during casting and combat.
One of the strengths of the Saltist Xs is their extraordinary throwing ability. We worked on the lengths following a precise physical principle: each foot of extra length results in a 10% increase in throwing distance. This, combined with perfect weight distribution and the use of V-Joint connections (which make the shaft curve as smooth as in a one-piece rod), allows record distances to be achieved effortlessly.
The technical equipment is first-rate, starting with the Air Sensor reel seat, designed to transmit every vibration directly to the fisherman’s hand. Fuji’s hybrid ringing combines the fluidity of Alconite with the lightness of SiC ferrule-a precise technical choice to lighten the peak and achieve perfect balance of the entire shaft.
